STAY-cation ~ Day Eight - PART(y) Two - The End
Day Eight - PART(y) TWO
For a long time Shane has been wanting to go to a REAL Soccer Game. Many of you who know our family - know that we are not the most Sports-finatic family. Well - that has all changed now! The REAL Soccer game was so much fun. It was quick moving, physical, entertaining and just plain fun. Every time REAL scored a goal - Milo would rip off his shirt and swing it over his head yelling "GOOOOAAAAALLL". It was so much fun.
After the REAL totally kicked the DALLAS FC patoosies we enjoyed a wonderful finale to our 2009 STAY-Cation - FIREWORKS!

This has been a great week.

STAY-cation ~ Day Eight PART(y) ONE
DAY Eight ~ Part(y) One
Our day eight began with a trip to the new COWABUNGA BAY water park in Draper. This fun new attraction is perfect for all ages. We all went down the big red slide just to the right of Matisse first. It was SO FUN! The "Slide Jungle Gym" is just like a giant water fight where are can squirt and be squirted by complete strangers and for some reason it's okay. Another fun part of the park was the Lazy River. It was very relaxing and the perfect cool down.

STAY-cation ~ Day Seven

Day Seven we drove to Heber for a Family Bike Ride and a trip on the Heber Valley Railroad. It was a HOT HOT HOT day. The bike ride took us through the streets of old Heber. The kids are great at following directions and enjoy the physical challenge. On the train Milo made friends - as he usually does. It doesn't matter where we are - he has the ability to attract and meet new people. He could very well be a politician or political leader of some sort. As embarassing as it is sometimes - it is one of his greatest characteristics. Matisse and Avy are entertained by Milo as well. We all enjoyed this relaxing day.
STAY-cation ~ Day Six

We spent our Stay-cation Day Six at RAGING WATERS. We haven't been to this water park for years. We were pleasantly surprised at the amount of available SHADE TREES, upkept Water Slides and Kid Friendly areas. The kids had free reign and Shane and Teryn spent a lot of time in the shade relaxing. Teryn was able to catch up on the recent book she has been reading. Milo was brave and tackled a few waterslides. Matisse and Avy spent the whole day exploring different slides. Matisse even overcame the biggest slide of them all. It was a great day!
STAY-cation ~ Day Five

On Day Five we went up to Snowbird for a fun retreat. They have Day Passes where you can have unlimited access to enjoy the TRAM, Chairlifts, Apline Slides, Zip Rider, Bungy Trampoline, Rockwall and Mechanical Bull riding. We rode the Tram to 11,000 feet, hiked down through some snow and rode the Peruvian chair lift down the mountain. It was beautiful. The kids quickly got the hang of the bunny-hill chairlift that takes you to the top of the Alpine Slide run. The signs clearly state "NO RACING" - but Shane just couldn't help himself. As Teryn and the three kids waited at the bottom for him - we all began to wonder what was taking him so long. The kid riding on the track next to him rides to the end with eyes wide open - "HE CRASHED, HE FLIPPED - IT WAS AWESOME, I hope he's alright". Thank goodness he was alright. Aside from a few nasty road rash burns - he was not permanently damaged. Shane was a trooper and rode the ZIP RIDER with Teryn after bandaging himself up. We stayed at a condo in the lodge that night relaxing and mending our wounds.

STAY-cation 2009 ~ Day Four

We spent our Stay-cation Day Four at LAGOON! This was the best time we have ever had at Lagoon. All of our kids are old enough to ride all of the rides. We went to WICKED first. Milo loved it and went twice. Avy did her job - went on it - and politely declined the offer to ride a second time. Mom and Avy sat that one out. Teryn did ride the SAMURAI with Matisse. What was she thinking! That about did her in. WAY TO GO MOM!
STAY-cation 2009 ~Day Three

Stay-Cation DAY THREE was physically challenging to say the least. Our family drove to American Fork Canyon and hiked the strenuous 1.5 mile - uphill trek to Mt. Timpanogas Caves. The journey up the mountain was felt by each one of us. All of the kids went through times of great "SPIRIT" as Milo would say, to times when they thought they just couldn't go on.
When we reached the cave entrance - our strange Tour Guide (Milo called him the Inspector), began to guide us through the first of 3 caves - all connected by tunnels. In the "Middle Cave", Charles, our guide, turned out the lights to give us an opportunity to see how really dark the caves are. Well, that didn't sit too well with the Mozaffari children. Playing off of each other - each took their turn waving through panic attacks. It was funny - but I sure was glad when the lights went back on. Needless to say - they couldn't wait to finish the rest of the tour and get out. Daylight and fresh air was entirely new to them after exiting the caves.
We had to just make the hike back down - you would think that would be easy. Yeah right! Two of our three children had to pee the entire way down. When we got back home - we all CRASHED!
STAY-cation 2009 ~ Day Two

Our Stay-cation Day Two - was packed with fun in the sun @ the Fountains at Gateway, a Star Show CLARK PLANETARIUM and swim/relaxing at Little America Hotel. We had planned to attend their Sunday Brunch - but it was temporarily discontinued due to renovations. Instead we had dinner at the SKY Restaurant where Shane had his first job. The views were beautiful at the 13th floor of the Red Lion Hotel. It was another fun day.
STAY-Cation 2009 ~ Day One
Our 2009 Summer Stay-Cation started on July 17th - Grandpa Don's Birthday. We went with Grandpa Don and Grammy Jackie to watch Milo's Hale Centre Theatre Camp performance. After the performance we went to Joe's Crab Shack and saw HARRY POTTER- Half Blood Prince. It was a GREAT DAY!
